Final Details
With only 10 days left until race day I just wanted to let everyone know exactly what was happening for the weekend. First off we have snow! Lots of it looks like anywhere between 10-14 inches fell last night! So I would imagine there will be snowmobiles on the trail this and next week to help pack it down. Temps for next weekend are looking very good high in the mid 20's lows in the mid teens. Hopefully they will continue to look like that and not dip down to low. Anyone traveling to Park Falls friday night I'm thinking I will be at AJ's bar and Dinning. it right off of hwy 13 on Division street. they have a big back area that I will reserve for anyone that wants to come in eat drink etc thinking about 5:00 -5:30 I will be there....
75 Mile Racers
Saturday morning I will start loading bikes up at the trail head at 4:00. To get to the trailhead from the North you will take hwy 13 to the second stoplight and hang a right.. CTY Rd E travel 1/4 a mile then hang a right on Park Lane... the parking lots are at the end of the road. From the South 1st stoplight into town hang a left on Cty Rd E. The bus will be there at 4:30 and we will need to leave right at 5:00 to make it to Rice Lake before 7:00 so please try to get there at early as possible to get the bikes loaded. Also Drop bags you can give them to me Friday Night or Saturday morning.. You may put whatever you like in them just remember if you leave anything in them you will not get it back until everyone passes thru the checkpoint which is about mile 44 Town of Winter.
There will be water and either HEED of Gatorade also at the checkpoint. Once you get into Park Falls I will mark where you have to turn off the trail to get to the trailhead. Also the official finish line is about 300 yards from the Park where your vechicle will be. It just happens my friend lives right there and has offered his house for the weekend. I will mark where to turn off to get to his house but you will be able to see where we have the fire going in the back yard. Also I have maps for everyone also there pretty good you wont get lost.
50 K Racers
I have a group of Vans setup to be at the trail head around 8:00-8:15 since everyone is on foot there is not much gear to load. You will leave at 9:00 and start in Winter at 10:00 There will be one check point for you also with some aid Water and Heed. This will be at Forest Road 161. This Road is the last road before entering Price County about mile 16 or very close to it. You may have a drop bag also at this stop as well. Also if you did not know you are not required to carry a stove.. everyone said they could do just fine without it so thats good.
Ok see some of you Next Friday the Rest on Saturday!
